Fragsters have secured the second Danish spot at the WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals after defeating Heroic on three maps.
Following North Academy's victory over Tricked,HEROIC, who fielded former Liquid member Jacob "Pimp" Winneche as Andreas "MODDII" Fridh is ineligible to play for the team due to the tournament's nationality restrictions, took on Fragsters to determine the second team who would compete at the European Regional Finals, in Barcelona.
Heroic kicked things off on their map pick, Train, with an early 5-0 lead as Counter-Terrorists. Fragsters then secured their first round, but Jakob "JUGi" Hansen's team refused to let their foot off the gas, losing only three more rounds before closing out the map, 16-4.
stavn was a key figure for Fragsters in the series
Mirage was the polar opposite of the first map as Fragsters cruised to a 9-1 lead on the Terrorist side. HEROIC then tightened up their defense, picking up three rounds in a row, but Fragsters kept the pace high and closed out the half with an 11-4 lead.
Carrying their momentum into the second half, Fragsters won five rounds without response to equalise the series, with 15-year-old boasting an impressive 1.71 Rating on the map.
Fragsters got off to a flying start on the decider map, Inferno, by winning the first eight rounds of the game. It was only then that HEROIC managed to keep the Terrorists at bay, but still the half ended in a lopsided 11-4 scoreline. After winning the CT pistol, the No.14 team in the world was caught off-guard by a UMP-force buy, which inspired Fragsters to hit 14 rounds.
HEROIC still found a lifeline in the game as they won four rounds in a row, but Fragsters kept their cool and locked down the map, 16-10, to book their spot at the WESG EU & CIS Regional Finals.
