With NiP announced as the seventh official team to attend Intel Extreme Masters San Jose, the eighth attendance spot will go to the winner of the iBUYPOWER CS:GO Invitational. After our previous article in which Cloud9 and Luminosity were announced as the third and fourth teams to attend the $100,000 Intel Extreme Masters stop in San Jose, California on November 21-22, the final four teams are now officially known. It was Virtus.pro and Natus Vincere, two teams who today sparred in the Azubu.tv showmatch, who were first announced as the fifth and sixth teams to attend the event.
ESL have now confirmed that NiP will be the seventh official team to attend the North American event, and they have additionally relegated the final spot to the best placed non-invited team of the iBUYPOWER CS:GO Invitational, another $100,000 tournament in California that will take place the week before on November 14-15. With Cloud9 and Luminosity attending the iBP Invitational as well, the final spot is a chance for hungry North American teams (as well as for the Australian Renegades squad), such as those whose owners were disappointed with the earlier North American invites.
